MBSB Over The Top PINTAR School – Klinik UPSR BH Didik Tour 2017 with MBSB

MBSB had recently completed an intensive two-day UPSR workshop in collaboration with BH Didik for its six (6) adopted school under the MBSB’s Over The Top PINTAR school programme. Total of 481 standard six students benefited from this programme with the objective of helping to improve students’ excellence through counseling and providing tips and strategies for their aiming to improve the schools’ academic performance.

MBSB Safety Awareness 2017

MBSB continued with its Safety Awareness Campaign by conducting a series Public Service Announcements (PSA) through HOT FM, FLY FM and ONE FM, digital video in social network such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and also on-ground activities in collaboration with Media Prima Radio Network.
This year the PSA episodes of video comprises the importance of safety and prevention steps in conjunction with the Aidilfitri holidays, MBSB’s Safety Awareness Campaign 2017 featuring safety message “5 Kesalahan Biasa Bila Excited Nak Balik Raya”. Our interview session with PgKB 1 En Abdul Khair bin Osman from Fire and Rescue Department Malaysia was featured during the ‘Apa yang Hot?’ session on Hot FM speaking on the safety tips before ‘balik kampung’ journey.
Meanwhile on-ground activities around Klang Valley area were implemented to support the program by engaging with the local community through quizzes and distributing promotional merchandises.

MBSB Over The Top PINTAR Engagement and Disengagement

MBSB had recently organised disengagement ceremonies with its six adopted schools namely Sekolah Kebangsaan LKTP Bukit Batu, Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar, Sekolah Kebangsaan Kuala Pari, Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanjung Lumpur, Sekolah Kebangsaan Gudon and Sekolah Kebangsaan Gita 2 marking the end of three year period of its adoption programme. All schools have shown notable improvements in their academic results and co-curriculum activities. As token to the schools, MBSB had helped in upgrade the schools’ amenities.
Continuing the programme’s success, MBSB adopted six (6) more schools for year 2017 until 2020 in Selangor, N. Sembilan, Penang, Terengganu, Sabah and Sarawak.
Cooking For A Cause (Central Region)

In collaboration with Food Aid Foundation, 80 residents from Rumah Anak Yatim Suci Rohani, Rumah Pengajian Xavier Persatuan Kebajikan Tan Hsiang Mitra and PPR Ria were invited to benefit from this program. Basic groceries were also being Distributed during the event. 22 MBSB volunteers assisted in serving them.
MBSB Blood Donation Drive 2017

MBSB organized a blood donation drive in collaboration with Pusat Darah Negara. This annual event is to promote and support the establishment of effective national blood programmes. This initiative also aims to build wider public awareness amongst MBSB employees and the public around MBSB’s vicinity on the need for regular blood donation throughout the year in order to maintain adequate supply of blood for the National Blood Bank. This year MBSB managed to collect 92 blood packs from 172 registered blood donors.
MBSB Zoo Explorer 2017

MBSB organised an educational trip to the Zoo, the “MBSB Zoo Explorer 2017” for 162 MBSB employees and their children during the first term school holidays. This initiative is to provide opportunity to the children to experience outdoor activities complimented by knowledge gaining on animal species at the same time promoting family time. Amongst the fun activities held were the zoo tour, animal show, coloring contest and treasure hunt.
MBSB Sejahtera Programme

Kuala Pilah, 20 February 2017 - En. Mohd Ali bin Aziz, 70, a beneficiary under MBSB's Program Sejahtera expressed his gratitude to MBSB and Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) during the key handing over ceremony of his new home built under the flagship programme.
An initiative in collaboration with IRM, the ceremony was conducted by Tuan Haji Zairulshahfuddin Zainal Abidin, CEO of IRM and Puan Zuhaznim Izzuddin, Head of Corporate Communications at Kg. Padang Lebar, Terachi, Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan.
This initiative has helped 16 families in total, located in Sabah, Sarawak, Kedah, Perlis and Negeri Sembilan in year 2016.
MBSB Over The Top – Back To School Programme 2017
MBSB contributed school supplies to 360 underprivileged students under our adopted schools throughout Malaysia in conjunction with the new school academic year 2017. Each student received school supplies worth RM 160 which include a complete set of school uniform, shoes and stationary set.
This contribution, under MBSB’s Over The Top Back to School Programme was initiated to ease the burden of underprivileged families as they prepare their children for the new school year.
Kem Smart Solat Program

MBSB organized a ‘Program Kem Smart Solat’ for three days and two nights from 9 – 11 December 2016 in collaboration with Persatuan Belia Masjid Selangor (PBMS) for MBSB staff children which was held at Kem Mutiara Semenyih Training Village & Eco Resort, Semenyih Selangor as part of our internal CSR initiative. This programme focuses on inculcating the importance of prayers in life.
Family Fun Day Out At Enerz Extreme Park

A total of 56 staff and their children participated and enjoyed this new experience. This initiative is also to show appreciation to staff for their efforts and services.
MBSB's Pintar School Teachers' Workshop

This year MBSB had collaborated with LeapEd Services to organise a teacher's workshop held on 18th to 21st October 2016 at Vistana Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The programme's objective is to support the establishment of teachers's coaching system in schools and develop their pedagogy skills.
The three 3-day centralized training course was designed to enhance participants' knowledge, skills and competencies using the GROW training modules. Subsequently, participants will be supported through school visits as well as online sessions to further enhance and develop the school teachers.
The programme was attended by 24 participants from MBSB's 6 adopted schools namely SK Bandar, SK Kuala Pari, SK LKTP Bukit Batu, SK Tanjung Lumpur, SK Gudon and SK Gita 2. The overall programme will be fully completed in February 2017.
Mighty 7 Run 2016

50 MBSB runners participated in Mighty 7 Run 2016 for charity fun run. The event was held on 4th September 2016 in Persiaran Flora, Cyberjaya. Approximately 1000 runners from public and corporate companies participated in the event.
The charity fun run organised by Danajamin Sdn Bhd in support of The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) which 50% of the participants fees will be donated to welfare of children with autism. MBSB’s participation in the run is also part of our corporate relationship and hospitality effort.

MBSB Safety Awareness Campaign 2016

MBSB will continuously strengthen its flagship CSR initiative, this time through MBSB Safety Awareness Campaign. The program aims to create awareness and educate the public on general crimes happening around us and prevention measures to create a safer living environment.
A collaboration with Media Prima Radio Network, Hot FM, Fly FM, and One FM conducted public service announcements (PSA) supported by on-ground engagement activities received overwhelming response from the public.
The PSA comprises crime awareness for snatch theft, kidnapping, rape and robbery. YBhg. Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Senior Vice Chairman of Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation was also featured during the ‘Apa yang Hot! ’ session on Hot FM, speaking on Malaysia’s crime rates in support of our initiative to increase awareness on importance of safety measures.

Malaysia Building Society Berhad (MBSB) brings Ramadan spirit to 125 orphans and less privileged children from Rumah Jalinan Kasih and Pusat Jagaan Cahaya Bestari with an Iftar treat at Aloft Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Earlier in the day, another 101 orphans from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Darul Ehsan and Pusat Jagaan Siraman Kasih were treated to a Hari Raya shopping spree at AEON Shah Alam.
MBSB also presented its zakat contribution to the four homes and a few other charitable organizations namely Surau Al-Hidayah, Persatuan Rakyat Miskin Malaysia, Pertubuhan Integriti Insan Malaysia, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Asnaf Al Barakh Malaysia, Persatuan Orang-Orang Cacat Penglihatan Islam Malaysia (PERTIS) and Nur Perkim Cawangan Melaka. "Duit Raya" were also distributed to the children during the Iftar programme.
MBSB OTT Pintar School – Fun and Smart Learning Programme (Phase1)
The Fun and Smart Learning Programme (Phase 1) commenced its journey as part of MBSB's Flagship CSR initiative, Over the Top PINTAR School in the 2nd quarter of 2016, supporting our adopted schools develop an educational programme for its standard 5 and 6 students. The programme was participated by more than 600 students nationwide. The Fun and Smart Learning Programme that was implemented in April emphasized on interactive and engaging learning approaches. Its module covers the core subjects namely Mathematics, Science and English and was conducted in English to further expose the students on the importance of English language simultaneously developing their English skills.
Trip to KidZania

It was a fun-filled trip for 100 children of MBSB staff, at the KidZania Indoor Edutainment Centre in Mutiara Damansara. The trip was part of MBSB initiative to encourage children of MBSB's staff to experience a fun interactive learning and entertainment for kids in a kid-sized city, the first-of-its-kind edutainment fun.
The KidZania experience is about real life experiences, empowering, inspiring and educating kids through role play. The kids had fun exploring up to 90 working roles in the theme park such as firemen, doctors, nurses, journalists, pilots and many more.
6th KEC Unity Run

As part of MBSB’s corporate relationship and hospitality effort, MBSB sponsored the 6th KEC Unity Run 2016 organized by Kelab Eksekutif Klang (KEC) in collaboration with ACMAR Group. The event was held on 17 April 2016 in Bandar Baru Klang, Selangor. Three thousand runners from various categories participated in the event.
The run aims to foster unity and promote healthy living among residents of Bandar Baru Klang and the surrounding areas within Klang Valley.
38 MBSB runners participated in the event. Participants who completed the race were awarded with a finisher medal and top 10 runners from each category won prizes worth up to RM500.

MBSB Over The Top - Back To School Programme 2016
In the 1st Quarter 2016, MBSB brought happiness and smiles to 6 of adopted schools with ‘Back to Schools’ programme in January.
The initiative is part of MBSB Over The Top programs which is held every year. The program is aimed at alleviating the underprivileged students’ family burden and helping them to prepare for the 2016 school year. The events were held in six of our adopted schools – SK Kuala Pari, Perak, SK Tanjung Lumpur, Pahang, SK LKTP Bukit Batu, Johor, SK Bandar, Selangor, SK Gudon, Sabah and SK Gita2, Sarawak. Regional Managers of MBSB B from respective regions presented the school necessities such as books, bags and stationery to total of 300 students.
We hope that our contribution will motivate the children in school and perform well in their studies for a better future.
2015 East Coast Flood Relief Programme

MBSB in collaboration with Food Aid Foundation made an early move in preparing food packs for those who will likely be affected by the floods in the East Coast by contributing RM300,000.00 to the initiative.
The programme aims to provide food supplies to victims of natural disaster as the need for emergency food will increase for displaced families affected by the floods.
Each food pack contains white rice, meat, fried fish in chilli sauce, cream crackers, fruit jam, cereal, granola energy bars and Milo three-in-one packets for two people, three meals a day. The food packs have been transported on 8 December, reaching Kota Bharu the next day.
Over The Top Pintar School Programme - British Council Program
MBSB in collaboration with British Council has successfully organised the "English Teachers Workshop" recently in Kuala Lumpur. The 5-day program focused on English Language enhancement for all English teachers under the MBSB Over The Top – PINTAR Programme.
This workshop serves as a motivating learning platform to inspire and encourage the teachers to be more proactive in teaching English language where trainers from British Council supported the teachers with the implementation of interactive, child-centered approaches by allowing them to observe good practice and by providing a source of practical ideas that can be implemented in their own respective school.
Over The Top Pintar School Programme - BH Didik Phase I & II
Seminar BH Jelajah Didik 2015 is a collaboration with Berita Harian Didik to inspire and encourage the students in preparing themselves mentally and physically for their UPSR examinations. Be Better Program is a program developed for MBSB Over The Top - PINTAR Schools especially for standard 6 students in preparation for their UPSR examinations. This program aims in equipping our students with basic concepts and key elements of self-management and self-motivation for the students’ progression development.
Home Safety Campaign
MBSB Home Safety campaign awareness has been our flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign and the objective is to create awareness and educate community particularly home owners on precautions of home and crime prevention safety at their home.
For this year, the MBSB Home Safety campaign series roadshow commenced in Temerloh, Pahang, followed by Taiping Perak and ended in Paroi, Seremban. Among the activities executed to create the awareness exhibitions and demonstrations from local authority Fire Brigade, Health, Civil Defence State Department, fitnessthon, cooking competition, explore race and coloring contest.
MBSB Sejahtera Programme
“Program Sejahtera MBSB”, one of MBSB’s CSR flagship programmes reflects the efforts to improve the standards of living for the less privileged communities in Malaysia, done through home building and rehabilitation. Homes are rebuilt or rehabilitated to ensure poor families live in homes that meet the minimum standards of safety and comfort.
Since 2011, we have improved the quality of living for 34 families in the states of Kelantan, Selangor, Melaka, Pahang, Sarawak, Johor and Terengganu.
Food For Homeless Project Featuring Senior Management Of MBSB

MBSB’s Senior Management team gives back to the society by volunteering for the Food For Homeless Project, a collaboration between MBSB and Food Aid Foundation (FAF).
FAF is a non-profit organization that operates as a food bank with the primary objective of providing basic food to charitable homes, rehabilitation centers, feeding centers, poor families and destitutes.
5 hours were spent to prepare 250 food packs at Food Aid Foundation’s central kitchen, Bandar Tasik Selatan. The food packs were then distributed to the underprivileged community around Kuala Lumpur.

MBSB took part in the second MERCY International Humanitarian Run held at Padang Merbok. organized by MERCY Malaysia and Go International Group, this charity run aims to raise awareness about MERCY Malaysia’s work in conducting local & international humanitarian projects with the purpose to sign on more donors for the general fund. The entire fund raised will be channelled to MERCY Malaysia’s Humanitarian Fund, which supports efforts in providing aid to those needed.
Participants who completed the race were awarded with a finisher’s medal after the race. During the event, three individuals with the most creative photos and videos uploaded under the #myMERCYrun Plank Challenge were also awarded with prizes from the sponsors.

Malaysia Building Society Berhad (MBSB) brings Ramadhan spirit to 100 refugee children under the purview of Malaysian Social Research Institute (MSRI) with an Iftar treat at The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur.
The children who are refugees and asylum seekers originated from Syria, Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Myanmar, Somalia, Liberia and Egypt.
MBSB also presented its zakat contribution to Malaysian Social Research Institute (MSRI) and few other charitable organizations namely Rumah Kasih Sayang, Madrasah Hashimiah, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Sukarelawan Malaysia, Yayasan Muslimin, Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim dan Kebajikan Darul Izzah, Pertubuhan Pusat Kebajikan Insan Malaysia, Persatuan Kebajikan Anak-anak Istimewa Harapan OKU Negeri Sembilan and PERKIM Cawangan Sri Kundang.
This year, MBSB also held Iftar programmes with orphans in Terengganu, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak with a total of 303 children from six (6) homes. During the Iftar programmes, the children also received “Duit Raya”.

MBSB organized a blood donation drive at its headquarters. The drive is collaboration with Pusat Darah Negara (PDN) an initiative to assist PDN meet the demand of blood.
MBSB Assists Flood Victims
MBSB has established its very own “MBSB Flood Relief Program” in response to the severe floods affecting several states in Malaysia during the monsoon season. This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative aims to provide assistance and alleviate the sufferings of people affected by the floods.
Relief efforts that were undertaken include volunteer relief work and the provision of financial and material aid to assist flood victims in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Kedah.
MBSB President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Ahmad Zaini Othman said, “We will put in as much effort as possible and assist in as many ways that we can to assist flood victims and provide them with their needs. It is unfortunate that they have to go through such consequence.”
In collaboration with “GLC Disaster Response and Relief Network”, a relief program initiated by Khazanah Nasional Berhad, MBSB has contributed hygiene kits through MERCY Malaysia worth RM15,000. Financial aids amounting to RM66,000 were also given to 132 households in Taman Mergong Jaya, Kedah when they became victims after the November 2014 floods in Kedah.
MBSB also collaborated with TESCO Malaysia through its “Misi Bantuan Kemanusiaan” where goods worth RM150,000 were transported directly to relief centres in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang for distribution to flood victims.
Contribution to Viva Palestina Malaysia

MBSB recently made a donation of RM100,000.00 to Viva Palestina Malaysia in support of its endeavours to help the people of Palestine and were very fortunate to have received pledges of contribution from kind and generous guests which raised an additional amount of RM130,000.00 during the Rumah Terbuka Aidilfitri MBSB at Dorsett Grand Subang on 7 August 2014.
The cheque was presented by Chairman of MBSB YBhg Tan Sri Abdul Halim bin Ali to Treasurer of Viva Palestina Malaysia, YBhg Puan Sri Datin Norma Hashim and witnessed by YBhg Dato' Ahmad Zaini Othman, President and Chief Executive Officer of MBSB at the event.

Malaysia Building Society Berhad (MBSB) brings Ramadan spirit to 102 orphans and less privileged children and 25 single mothers from Rumah Titian Kasih with an Iftar treat at Sime Darby Convention Centre. This is an annual tradition which is also part of MBSB's effort to reach out to the less privileged as well as to celebrate and embrace the spirit of the holy Ramadan.
During the event, MBSB also presented its zakat contribution to Rumah Titian Kasih and few other charitable organizations namely Madrasah Al Faaiziin, Pengurusan Cahaya Kasih, Rumah Nur Raudhah, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Baitul Kasih, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Baitul Ma'mur, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rimbunan Bistari, Persatuan Wahidayah Malaysia dan Yayasan Al Ijabah.

Home Safety Campaign in collaboration with Gempaknya My Community!

Home Safety Campaign is the company's flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign and its objective is to create awareness on personal responsibility in home safety and crime prevention, to empower the community to take action and be responsible and last but not least to allow and foster MBSB employees relationship with community driven activities.
Among activities on that day include mural artwork, safety talks by PDRM and Fire Brigade, community bazaar and interactive activities such as recycle art, treasure hunt, and ‘sukaneka'.
The event was launched by Rohani Mazlan, Assistant Vice President, Corporate Communication Department.
Damansara SSC Celebrates Cheeky Account Holders

It was a fun-filled trip for 70 Cheeky account holders of Sekolah Tadika Islam Hidayatul Mustaqimah Jinjang Utara, to the National Science Centre and Chocolate Museum, recently. The trip was part of Damansara Sales and Service Centre's initiative to appreciate existing account holders and encourage the opening of new Cheeky Savings account.
At the National Science Centre, students were being exposed to exciting science activities which stimulate the interests of young children in science based on 'Learn, Play and Think' concept.
At the Chocolate Museum, the young students have been offered with a unique '4Es' proposition: Interactive Education, Chocolate-making Experience, Enjoyable Shopping, and Exploration of the World of Chocolate. Amongst the interesting knowledge gained were the chocolate history, revolution of chocolate industry and benefits of chocolate. Before leaving, students were given time to indulge themselves at Chocolate Galleria where there were more than 100 freshly-produced chocolate products.
Soup Kitchen Kick-Start 2014 - Kuala Lumpur

President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Ahmad Zaini Othman and the management team kicked-start 2014 MBSB Soup Kitchen Programme at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Silang, Kuala Lumpur. During the programme, Dato' Ahmad Zaini announced that MBSB will be allocating RM60,000.00 to support the programme for year 2014.
MBSB Soup Kitchen programme will continue to encourage the spirit of volunteerism among staff. MBSB joined the PERTIWI Soup Kitchen Programme in July 2013 feeding an average of 600 people each night. To date, 340 employees have volunteered for this programme.
The Soup Kitchen Programme is our collaboration initiative with an NGO – Persatuan Tindakan Wanita Islam (PERTIWI), whereby MBSB provides monetary support for their food provisions to the homeless living on the streets of Kuala Lumpur. Our staff come forward as volunteers for this programme.
2014 Back To School Programme - Selangor, Kedah, Sarawak, Sabah, Terengganu & Melaka

MBSB Over the Top-PINTAR School Programme kicked off the first event this year with a "Back to School" event at all our six adopted schools – SK Teluk Jamat, Kedah, SK Hj Kelali Semera, Sarawak, SK Unggun Menggatal, Sabah, SK Seri Geliga, Terengganu, SK Semenyih, Selangor & SK Parit Penghulu, Melaka.
Events were held at respective schools whereby the Regional Branch Representatives (RBR) from respective regions handed over Cheeky school bags to the underprivileged students. This initiative has benefitted 300 students with the objective of easing their family's financial burden at the same time increasing their level of motivation and encouragement. RBRs also presented incentives to students who have excelled in their 2013 UPSR examinations.
Flood Relief Aid In Kuantan, Pahang

The states of Terengganu and Pahang were badly hit by flood recently, affecting thousands of homes. In aid of the victims, our Regional Branch Representative (RBR) of East Coast Region, En Zamzuri Izani handed over contributions to the families involved in Sg Isap in Kuantan.
The floods were one of the worst recorded and badly affected around our areas of operation. Despite the turn of events, our employees came together to help families and friends affected in cleaning surrounding areas and assisted the communities in need. In addition, affected employees and their families also received monetary support from MBSB.
MBSB Outreach Programme At Pusat Jagaan Asrama Cemerlang Anak Yatim Pkayia Daerah Lipis, Kuala Lipis, Pahang

About 30 MBSB employees visited the children of Pusat Jagaan Asrama Cemerlang Anak Yatim PKAYIA Daerah Lipis, Kuala Lipis, Pahang for an Outreach Programme. The volunteers together with the children painted the home, cleaned up the surrounding area with the children.
This Outreach Programme is being introduced in 2Q 2013 in collaboration with MBSB's CATWALK PROGRAMME where staff performed moderate walks lasting for several hours at specific routes determined by Malaysian Conservation Alliance for Tigers (MYCAT) researchers or the Park authorities. These routes were being identified as poaching hotspots or common poachers' access routes into the core protected forests at Sungai Yu Corridor near Taman Negara border. The programme has resulted in the arrests of poachers and traders in the past years.

Cooking For A Cause (Southern Region)

30 MBSB volunteers from Southern Region prepared for 100 underprivileged individuals at Balai Raya Kampung Parit Bakong, Senggarang, Batu Pahat, Johor. Basic groceries were also being distributed during the event. Cooking for a Cause is a community program in collaboration with Food Aid Foundation.
