MBSB @ "Rakyat Bersama Pemimpin"

During the "Rakyat Bersama Pemimpin" programme on 19th March 2011, the CEO, YBhg. Dato' Ahmad Zaini Othman, presented a symbolic mock cheque amounting to RM40,000 to the Prime Minister YAB Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak, for Sek Keb Haji Kekali Semera. Sekolah Kebangsaan Hj Kelali has been selected as one of MBSB's adopted schools under the "PINTAR School Adoption Programme". Among the VVIP's who attended the event were YBhg. Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, Chief Minister of Sarawak and YB Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zaid Hamidi, Minister of Defence.
Apart from that, MBSB also contributed building materials such as paint, plywood, asbestos, brushes and also standing fans to Kampung Semera Mosque and two surau as part of MBSB's CSR programmes.

Farewell To SEK. KEB. MACHANG MUBOK & SEK. KEB. BUKIT TEH

Over the last three years, MBSB under its CSR programme had supported pupils for both Sek. Keb. Machang Mubok and Bukit Teh, Bukit Mertajam, Penang. Contribution was given in the form of sponsorship of tuition classes, NST newspapers, smart learning programmes and motivational camps. Most pupils in these schools are of poor income background, hence are the much-needed group for education assistance.
Both schools hosted a "farewell ceremony" for MBSB which were attended by Encik Abdul Raif, RBR Northern Region, Puan Rohani Mazlan, Senior Manager of Corporate Communication Department and northern region staff.

MBSB Sponsored Fire Victims

Head of Corporate Planning and Communication Division, Puan Azlina Mohd. Rashad had handed over contribution to the fire victims from the 8th Battalion, General Operations Force (GOF), Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan on 26 May 2011. The fire had affected 89 people from 16 families.
Apart from MBSB, also in attendance at Presentation Ceremony at Bukit Aman were representatives from Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Bhd, Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd, Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd, and Al-Rajhi Banking, Investment Corporation Malaysia Bhd and Pembinaan BLT.
Inspector-General of Police, YBhg Tan Sri Ismail Omar accepted the contributions from the donating banks. Also present were PERKEP members and police force senior officers.

Donation to Seri Mengasih Centre, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

MBSB continues to contribute to the community in Sabah. During the Karnival MBSB 2011, which was held from 15 - 17 July 2011 at Kamunsing Complex, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Head of Retail Business Division En. Azman Aziz handed over a mock up cheque of RM3,000 to Miss Vivianna Bt Sopitang, a representative from Seri Mengasih Centre, home for the disabled. The contribution made was part of MBSB CSR programmes.
The Karnival held was to create awareness and to introduce more of MBSB products and services to the local community in the region. Currently, MBSB Personal financing is the most sought after product in the state. Customers can visit MBSB's branches opening of savings and fiexed deposit accounts. MBSB also has plans to open up branches in Keningau, Lahad Datu and Alam Mesra in the near future.

"Majlis Penyampaian Sumbangan Zakat" Kampung Tupong Kuching, Sarawak

In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan, MBSB Kuching SSC brought cheer to 37 orphans and 10 senior citizens from Kampung Tupong Kuching, Sarawak by presenting them with 'Duit Raya' during the break of fast held on 9th August 2011 at Surau Darul Hijrah. MBSB Regional Branch Representative, En. Morshidi bin Hj. Abong
The contribution was part of the regional CSR event called "Majlis Penyampaian Sumbangan Zakat" to the Sarawak community.

MBSB Zakat Contributions

Apart from other CSR programmes activities such as Pintar, school adoption, and corporate donations, MBSB has expanded its CSR activities through its Syariah Unit's Zakat contributions. Over a hundred thousand of ringgit has been contributed to various charity homes, zakat organisations and individuals throughout the country, which include schools, orphanages Tabung Amanah Zakat, PERTIS, Baitul Ma'Mur, Lembaga Zakat Selangor, Kelas Pengajian Al-Quran dan Fardhu Ain Al-Muazzim, Sekolah Agama Bandar Baru Bangi (LEPAI) and many more.
MBSB is committed to giving back to the community by helping those who are less privileged This practice is applied to all its branches nationwide, where the branches also take part in making some contributions to their community.

MBSB Iftar with Orphans @ Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club

MBSB once again hosted a 'Majlis Iftar with MBSB' at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club on 13 August 2011. 70 children from the homes of Keluarga Besar Norlina Alawi Berhad and Positive Shelter Home (POSHE) were invited to the event. This annual event is organised to spread some joy to the less fortunate ones in the holy month of Ramadhan.
Ramadhan is certainly a time to reflect on the countless blessings one enjoys in life and with this gratitude give generously to those in need. MBSB branches nationwide are all involved in doing their bit to the community during this time of the year.
At the event, YBhg Dato' Ahmad Zaini gave away 'duit raya' and goody bags to the children. He also presented mock cheques to the representatives of the homes invited as well as to eight other charity homes and zakat organisations.

"Majlis Penyampaian Sumbangan Zakat" Kampung Tupong Kuching, Sarawak

On 14 August 2011, MBSB Bintulu branch put a smile to the orphans of Kampung Assyakirin, Bintulu Sarawak with zakat contribution amounting to RM1,500. Mr. Bong Arredha Bong Hata, Bintulu Branch Manager presented the donation to the orphans at Kampung Assyakirin Phase 1. Also present at the event was the village Chief, Pengiran Hamdan Pengiran Kerta.
In addition to the donation, MBSB provided them with a savings account each with initial deposit of RM50.00 per person. This is to instil good saving habits amongst the children.

Raya Shopping treat for 30 orphans in Balung, Tawau

In the spirit of giving in the month of Ramadhan and as part of its CSR activities, MBSB Tawau Branch has contributed RM3,300 to 30 orphans from Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Islam Tawau. On 20th August 2011, Regional Business Representative, En. Redzuan Khusairy Othman and MBSB Tawau Head of Sales and Service Centre, En.Zasnie Hamzah together with Balung Tawau Sabah assemblyman, YB Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali brought joy to the orphans by giving them an opportunity to shop for their Hari Raya clothes at Servay Jaya Eastern Plaza. Datuk Syed Abas also contributed RM50 to each orphan during the event.
